The second in posh's Thomas Kinkade coloring book series, _Peaceful Moments_, builds on the first one, Posh Adult Coloring Book: Thomas Kinkade Designs for Inspiration & Relaxation (Posh Coloring Books). It's the same format: a Kinkade color print on the left side of the page as a guide, and a simplified drawing to color in on the right side. The plus is lots and lots of color prints and pages to color; the downside is that coloring on the right side of the page may bleed through or emboss the color print on the next page. The paper is medium-weight; the cover isn't as stiff as the earlier book.A plus in this book is that the producers realized that the drawings did not need to be as cluttered as in the earlier book, where there were so many graduations of color and shade that it was not that easy to pick out the elements in the picture. So these drawings are much clearer on finding "the house" or "the fence" than before. The drawings with a lot of foliage are still pretty busy but the majority are clean and crisp. I think the color reproductions are a bit cleaner and more focused than before also - not as fuzzy.True Kinkade fans will be happy to see that now the reproductions are identified; so if you want to look up editions or try to find an enlarged version, it will be easy to search. If you want to get as close to Kinkade's original as possible, watch the textures. He always has a lot of texture going on in his work, especially in the rainy-day scenes. Colored pencil or pastel pencils are probably going to be your best bet; don't be afraid to leave white paper showing through your colors to get his luminosity.And if you are not that much into Kinkade, you can work out your own color schemes - a deeper twilight or more brilliant sunset - to make the images more your own. Or search in Google images for "modified Kinkade" and see how others have taken his work as a starting point for their own mashups with Star Wars characters or Cthulu...Sixty-three Kinkade prints and their drawings to color; 7.2 x 9.5 inch format.
